Who Is Your CIO?

Date: June 29, 2011

A Chief Information Officer is responsible for all information technology and computer systems that support your business goals.

Most businesses appoint trusted advisors for important business matters, such as a financial planner or CPA.  Similarly, your business needs guidance on your organization's IT strategy and operations.  Unless you have an in-house CIO expert to rely on, a Virtual CIO becomes your trusted IT business partner.

A Virtual CIO is responsible for the following:

  • Planning – the Virtual CIO establishes plans for your business to incorporate IT into your company’s mission and objectives.
  • Assessing – the Virtual CIO performs network and security assessments that provide an unbiased perspective of configuration and policies. From the age of your computers to the size of your memory, the Virtual CIO will analyze your entire IT structure and make suggestions for optimal results.  Additionally, the Virtual CIO's function includes developing and implementing ways to improve your backup procedures and disaster recovery planning.
  • Designing – the Virtual CIO designs an overall system or systems that are appropriate for your company’s end user needs and then works to install them to make them operational.
  • Managing – once the computing systems and subsystems have been planned, designed and installed, the Virtual CIO is responsible for managing the systems and communicating any necessary changes/updates with your company.

As your Virtual CIO, Pre-Tech would be dedicated to investing your IT investments wisely.  Our unique strategy provides the preventative maintenance that would keep your business successful.

Pre-Tech is a Managed Service Provider that not only acts as your Virtual CIO, but delivers the peace of mind you need.  We keep your computer systems functional so that you can concentrate your efforts on running your business.
